Day Camp General Information

We are expecting the Ontario government and Public Health to be putting out a guidance document soon for the safe running of Day Camps. Some measures that we expect to see are:

  • Covid screening prior to arriving at camp each day (via an app)
  • mask wearing and physical distancing
  • frequent hand washing or sanitizing
  • frequent cleaning and sanitizing of equipment and facilities
  • cohorting for cabin groups

Once we know more information, we will let you know! Please keep an eye on your emails as we will be sending out information as we get closer to Summer Camp!

Will be happening Monday morning this year.

Please ensure that prior to arrival, you have completed:

  • camp forms on your my.medeba account
  • emergency numbers on your my.medeba account
  • Covid screening form on the app

Daily Arrival/Departure

Monday - Friday: 8:30 am - 5:15 pm. Please let the office know if you are going to be late!

Parents are responsible for transportation. Please make sure to complete your daily screening before arrival.

Because of Covid Restrictions, we will be asking parents to support physical distancing and cohorting by:

  • Please avoid group transportation
  • Parents shouldn't have to leave their cars
  • staggering drop off and pick up times
  • spreading out cabin groups for pick up

Age Considerations

Age limits are guidelines. Exceptions are made for campers who function at a different level than their age would suggest.

Before you arrive, please make sure your child:

Lost and Found

All lost and found items are displayed multiple times during the week for the campers to claim. All unclaimed items are washed and stored until the end of September, at which time we donate them to a local charity. Please call the office if you have lost an item and we will attempt to locate it and return it to you.

Cancellation Policy

For 2021, Medeba has required a deposit $75 at the time of booking. The remainder will be due on June 15th.

If a camper cancels day camp:

  • Prior to May 1st - full refund of your deposit
  • May 1st to two weeks before the program date - full refund, less $25 for administrative fees
  • Less than two weeks prior to the program date - fees and deposit is non-refundable, unless written explanation from a doctor is received, in which case $25 is non-refundable for administrative fees.
  • No refund will be made for late arrivals or early departures.

Medeba reserves the right to cancel any program or activity due to a lack of participants.

Health Care and Special Dietary Needs

Health Care and First Aid

Guardians are required to provide Medeba with a phone number in case of sickness or an emergency. If a day camper needs any kind of medical attention we will call the parent/guardian who will be required to pick up the camper. In case of emergency where the camper needs to go to the hospital, Medeba will make arrangements and then will call the parent/guardian.

If campers require medications while at camp we would ask that you bring enough for the whole week on Monday morning. Medications will be administered by our Health Care Coordinator. Please fill out a medical form for them and return it to our office.

It is essential that someone is available to pick your child up at any time, in case of emergency, or if they exhibit Covid symptoms. More information on what happens if your child develops Covid related symptoms will be sent to you once we receive guidance from the Ontario government.

Head Lice

If a day camper is found to be with head lice we will ask the parent to make arrangements to pick up the camper. The camper may return when the head lice has been treated.

Dietary Needs

Provision is made for campers with allergies or special dietary needs. Please fill out the Restricted Diet Form and return it to the office. We provide children friendly meals with lots of choice, but do not cater to picky eaters.

What the Camper Should Know Before Arriving

Medeba is a smoke free facility. Smoking by anyone is prohibited.

Medeba does not permit gum-chewing on property.

Medeba is an allergy aware facility. Please do not bring any products with nuts or that may contain nuts.

Cell Phones, MP3 player, Tablets, Laptops, Gaming devices

No refund will be made for dismissals due to disciplinary action. Parents will be responsible for the removal of the camper due to dismissal.
